The experience gave us fantastic views of Yosemite Falls and Half Dome, plus we found some chill spots on a few beaches like Housekeeping Beach. **Tips for River Rafting:** 1. **Take Your Time:** The rafting trip can be as quick as 20 minutes, but we highly recommend taking it slow and enjoying the journey for up to 2 hours. It’s worth it! 2. **Stop at Housekeeping Camp Beach:** If you forgot something, let the kids play on the beach while your partner heads to the store to pick up snacks, beer, or anything else you need. 3. **Explore Multiple Beaches:** Housekeeping Camp Beach is stony, but further down the river, you can find sandy beaches where the kids can build castles and have even more fun. 4. **Stay Safe in the River:** The water can be very cold, below 50 degrees when we visited, and the current can be strong. Always keep life jackets on the kids for safety. 5. **Don’t Be Afraid to Raft with the Littles:** Even though river rafting can be dangerous, this river’s flow was slow and gentle with barely any rapids. We saw people going down in just an inner tube! 6. **Book with the Bicycle Rental Station at Curry Village:** If you book directly with them, your package will include a trip back on a bus that comes and goes multiple times just for rafters. We’re thrilled to report that Dad can still bust a trick or two on the wakeboard, even in the chilly waters of Lake Tahoe, which averages around 53°F (12°C). Did you know Lake Tahoe is the largest alpine lake in North America and the second deepest in the United States, with a depth of 1,645 feet? The lake’s clarity is legendary, allowing you to see down more than 70 feet in some places. We rented a water sport charter boat with #BirkholmsWaterSports and highly recommend them as a service.
